Paper Monuments
A public art and history project serving as a megaphone for New Orleanians to tell stories of the people, places, movements, events and ideas which matter to us.
Paper Monuments was possible because of generational Black-led grassroots organizing to remove New Orleans’ Jim Crow monuments, a dedicated team of contributors including Bryan Lee Jr., Sue Mobley, Brit Lindsey, Nic Aziz, Shoshana Gordon, John Ludlam, Isa Siegel, Colin Frederickson and myself, and the diverse artists and storytellers who bring our histories to life.
